Method
How a SAT Math lesson actually runs
Diagnose by question type, not by score
A raw score tells you nothing actionable. We break your practice test down by topic and by error type — content gap, misread question, arithmetic slip, ran out of time — because each of those has a completely different fix.
Three routes to every question
Algebra, Desmos, or working backwards from the answer choices. We train you to pick the fastest route before you start, which is usually worth more points than learning new mathematics.
Practise adaptively, like the real test
The Digital SAT's second module gets harder if you do well in the first. We rehearse that pattern so a sudden jump in difficulty reads as a good sign rather than a panic trigger.
Where students get stuck
The Digital SAT punishes the slow correct method
You have roughly ninety-five seconds per question, and the test is adaptive — perform well in the first module and the second gets harder. A student who solves every question algebraically and correctly can still finish below their potential, because the questions they never reached cost exactly as much as the ones they got wrong.
How we fix it
We build a deliberate decision habit: before starting any question, choose between algebra, Desmos and backsolving from the answer choices. Desmos is built into the testing app and will solve systems, find zeros and locate intersections in seconds — but only if you've practised reaching for it. Knowing which of the three routes suits a given question shape is a trainable skill, and for most students it moves the score more than any new mathematics does.
Your plan
An eight-week Digital SAT Math plan
Eight weeks is comfortable for a substantial score move. We've run this in four when a test date is close, by cutting the content phase and leaning harder on technique.
- 1
Full diagnostic test
A complete practice test in the Bluebook app, under real timing. Everything afterwards is built from that error analysis rather than from guesswork.
- 2
Close the content gaps
Typically linear equations and systems, ratios and percentages, or the handful of geometry and trigonometry facts the test reuses constantly.
- 3
Advanced algebra and data analysis
Quadratics, exponentials, function notation and the data-interpretation questions that make up a large share of the paper.
- 4
Desmos fluency
Deliberate practice with the built-in calculator until graphing a system is faster than solving it by hand. This alone often recovers several questions' worth of time.
- 5
Timing and triage
Module-length sets under the clock, practising the skip-and-return decision. Learning to abandon a question at forty seconds is a skill in itself.
- 6
Full timed tests and review
Two complete adaptive tests with a full error review after each, plus test-day logistics so nothing on the morning is unfamiliar.

“Having sat on both sides of the desk, I teach the way I once needed to be taught: break each problem down step by step, and stay patient until it clicks.”
SAT Math students, in their words.
Knowledgeable and patient tutor
“Both my kids, 13 and 8, took lessons from Asad. He was very patient, understood what they wanted to learn, and went at their pace. He's knowledgeable and takes the effort to prepare for every class and set work afterwards. Both my kids love their 'Math Coach', as they call him!”
