Method
How a AP Chemistry lesson actually runs
We find the gap, not the topic
Almost nobody is bad at AP Chemistry across the board. Lost marks usually trace back to one or two upstream ideas — what a mole actually counts, or what equilibrium physically means. The first lesson is a diagnostic, and we fix the cause rather than re-teaching the symptom.
Reasoning before recall
The AP exam awards marks for justification, not just the right number. We practise saying why a reaction shifts, why a buffer resists change, why entropy increases — out loud, in the language the scoring guidelines reward.
Past papers under real conditions
From the midpoint onwards, every lesson includes timed questions from released exams, marked against the official College Board scoring guidelines so you see exactly where a point was earned or dropped.
Where students get stuck
Equilibrium questions that punish memorised rules
Students learn Le Chatelier's principle as a set of slogans — add reactant, shift right; increase pressure, shift toward fewer moles. It works until the exam adds an inert gas at constant volume, or raises the temperature, and the slogans quietly give the wrong answer. The same students can state the expression for Kc but cannot say what actually stays constant when conditions change.
How we fix it
We rebuild the whole topic around the reaction quotient. Once a student can compute Q and compare it to K, every Le Chatelier question collapses into a single comparison instead of four rules to remember. Temperature also stops being a confusing special case, because it becomes the one change that genuinely moves K rather than just moving the system back toward it.

You sit a full released paper untimed. We map every lost mark to one of the nine CED units and rank them by how many marks are actually at stake, so the plan targets your paper rather than a generic syllabus.

Rebuild the two weakest units
From first principles rather than revision notes. For most students this is some combination of equilibrium, acid-base chemistry and thermodynamics.

Drill the quantitative core
Stoichiometry, gas laws, titration arithmetic, Hess-cycle energetics and electrochemistry, practised until the setup is automatic and the calculator work stops eating your exam time.
